listen to sound filesWhy the longbox turkey call?
There are many different kinds of turkey calls. I always found myself coming back to the longbox. The sound is great and it's very user-friendly.
How is this call made and what types of wood do you use?
This call is all hand made. I find the best wood (sometimes it has to dry for a few years), cut out the call, attach the aluminum paddle and fine tune the call. I make these calls out of Chestnut, Wormy Chestnut, Butternut, Wild Cherry and Black Walnut.
Why are the calls numbered?
I test every single call. If it doesn't sound right to me, I will not sell it. I give each call a unique number. I record sound files of all my calls (and include the number in the file). This way, if a hunter wants to pick out a specific call-they know exactly what it sounds like.
What about maintenance?
Some hunters chalk the aluminum paddle while others do not. I usually don't chalk mine unless I feel it is really needed.
How long have you been making these turkey calls?
I have been making calls for over 15 years. The longbox turkey call is my favorite call and that is why I decided to only make them and perfect the sound.
What's your favorite call?
I get this question often. I use all of my calls. When I hunt I usually carry 2 at a time in my custom made leather holster. It's all personal preference. They all sound great!
Where are you located?
I live in Central Pennsylvania.
